Illustrate a Story

This story is about a couple that met at the age of 15 and fall in love. Jacqueline, father got transfer in 1959to japan peter later said he joined the army just so he can go to japan and be with her. Peter did 3 years came back and visited jacqueline's mom to later find out she was married. she later realized that she made a mistake and started searching for him for 30 years until one day she called the operator at they had him listed in white plains. It amazes me to believe it that they still felt the same say they did when they were 15. This was a cute story that reflects how love never really dies its just takes 2 people who want to be together to make it work.

Trip of a life time (field trip number 1 )

Japanese Culture of the Postwar Year 1945-1995

Takashi Murakami

 “Wall Wailing” by Marlene Dumas

In the month of March we went to the MOMA it wasn’t my first time their but it had completely changed since I was a child. I truly enjoyed the field trip it helped understand the lecture videos a bit better. Not only did it open up my eyes in the way I view are because that everything their was drawn but their was also hand made masks and an artist who recorded themselves about their daily life.  I can honestly say that I enjoyed this field trip .
The first artwork ill speak about is called “Wall Wailing” by Marlene Dumas. This art to mean shows historical identity. This artist is from the south and she is representing how back in the days they use to line up African Americans and do really heavy searches to them for no reason. It seems as the men searching them worked for the government like police officers or something.
The second work of art is called is Japanese Culture of the Postwar Year 1945-1995. I see this art as cultural identity. This is because you can really feel the Japanese presents the poster has. I feel as the artist wanted his culture to be know and seen all around the world but this painting is truly not only about culture but also bout the second war and reconstruction. I say war being in the poster you can see a crying solider on a corner. Theirs a lot going on but its all power and ties in very nicely.
The third piece of artwork that I feel completely in love with is what I consider individual identity. The artist Takashi Murakami has created many paintings, drawings, sculptures, ect. This art to me says something beyond the fact that the artist misses an individual but that the artist has brought more than just the of art and drawing to it but their personal life in to it as well. I love this drawing because it shows the artists creative/ childish personality. It shows that an artist can have an art identity that’s muliti cultural.
